The Hunt

“I grew up a hunter, but the woods and fields taught me to be still and quiet, and that is the ideal state for God to reach in and tap us on the shoulder–and then touch our lives. Though I am a  Christian, being in the field still creates the perfect opportunity for reflection and renewal. Nature clearly illustrates the unique relationship outdoorsmen have with their Creator and it takes us on a wilderness journey with God. It reminds us that the rhythm of life can be wonderfully lived within God’s song of nature. The various currents in the stream–hunting, fishing, hiking, and many more–serve the outdoorsman’s heart, if he will take time to reflect not only on the creation but also on the Creator who made it all.

Psalm 42 1
“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? My tears have been my food day and night, while men say to me all day long, "Where is your God?”

Remember in your hunting season this year to thank the Lord for sharing his incredible nature and creatures. Grant us always, wisdom and respect in the pursuit and keep us humble in the harvest.

God’s Blessings to you all this hunting season.
