Ash Wednesday

Today, March 1, 2017, is exactly forty days before Easter.  It is a time for reflection as we consider how big our God is and how much He loves each and every person on earth.  As teachers in a Lutheran school, we have the unique privilege of sharing this message of love with the children in our care.  Together, we will follow Jesus once again through His journey of suffering on the way to the cross to buy back sinful mankind from the depths of sin and death.  At the end of this journey we see the cross Jesus made His sacrifice upon, the tomb that held Him for three days and a glorious resurrection that await all who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior.  

As you take time for reflection during these forty days, look at your children and know in your heart how much you would sacrifice for them.  You then will know how our God looks at you.  Don't allow your feelings of inadequacy to cloud your view of God's love, but praise Him for the gift of faith and for the privilege of sharing your faith with the next generation.
